LEDEROIL RCS,

fatliquor favouring softness

The opinion of some technicians who have studied the best applications of the product on different types of leather

Experiences achieved in the field, various analysed problems, solutions found out and applied while trying to find the most suitable use for each chemical product according to the type of leather, to tannery’s characteristics, to the final destination of the product.

Some Repico technicians have analysed one product and explain its special characteristics, best performances of use and the consequent results.

The considered product is fatliquor LEDEROIL RCS.

LEDEROIL RCS

RENZO FRACCA – VENETO BRANCH

“LEDEROIL RCS is a fatliquor suitable for vacuum-treated articles, smooth nappa, drummed nappa and leather goods if used in combination with Lederoil C and Replicker A”.

“In case of vacuum-dried upholstery articles, you will obtain very fine grain after drumming by using 6-8% Lederoil RCS with additions of 2% Replicker S22 and 2% Replicker RC1. It is particularly suitable for oiled and waxed articles, because it allows to adjust the absorptions and to obtain an even application of finish (oils and waxes)”.

“Used alone, the product provides waxy and velvety touch (always for vacuum dried articles)”.

“According to our experience, the product may be suitable also for wet-frame dried articles, used with Lederoil C, Replicker Soft, Replicker RC1 in equal percentage to obtain a fine grain after drumming even on the most difficult raw materials”.

“To conclude, I noticed that the use of Lederoil RCS on pastel shades gives even and clean dyeing.”

MICHELE GIACONI – TUSCANY BRANCH

“Lederoil RCS has excellent penetration in leather and remarkable fatliquoring power”.

“This fatliquor is very valid in all those articles demanding good softness combined with grain fineness”.

“Used in combination with Replicker Soft, it allows to obtain higher softness”.

“Combined with Replicker X94 or Replicker NG 76/N, the product gives firmer articles though still soft and 'round'.”

“I noticed that the fatliquor emulsion might be little stable in case of hard waters, and that Lederoil RCS penetration in leathers might be poor in case of strongly retanned leathers. I remedy this problem by adding little amounts of emulsifying agent, like Dermalan S, to the fatliquor blend.””

STEFANO BIANCO – TURKEY AREA MANAGER

“I use Lederoil RCS above all in articles destined for soft footwear and leather goods”.

“This product, used from 2 to 5% in the fatliquoring blend, allows to obtain sufficiently soft leathers, without affecting grain firmness and giving a very pleasant silicone touch”.

“Lederoil RCS is slightly waterproofing, regulates the penetration of the finish and prevents the finishing resins from penetrating too deep in the leather section; it avoids leather hardening after hot ironing”.

“I found this problem on Brazilian leathers which can’t be fatliquored too much: the use of Lederoil RCS as the main fatliquor (2-4%) helps solve this inconvenience”.

“Moreover I normally use Lederoil RCS on sheep skins for garment articles: in percentage of 2% in the fatliquor mix, the product gives leathers a very pleasant touch and adjusts the absorption of the finish”.

“It is suitable also in case of washable articles. In this case we have developed a very valid and widely applied recipe, which uses Lederoil RCS as the main fatliquor”.

“I have tried it also on suede articles, like goats and splits; 2-3% of Lederoil RCS in the fatliquor mix increases the dyeing power and improves shade brightness, without affecting the suede effect”.

“Moreover Lederoil RCS is one of the few fatliquors that exhaust quite well and can fatliquor chrome-free leathers. For this kind of article, we recommend to use 10% of Lederoil RCS.”

NINO VERNIERI – CAMPANIA BRANCH

“I consider Lederoil RCS as a ‘dry’ fatliquor that, used in the retanning of suede goats in combination with Replicker X94, helps leather buffability. Use percentages on wet blue weight are indicatively: 4% Lederoil RCS, 4% Replicker X94. Used in suede dyeing in amounts of 10-12% on dry weight, it gives leathers good colour brightness and pleasant touch”.
