Products resistant to detergent and enzyme cleaning are indispensable for articles destined to the garment sector

The use of footwear and garment leathers that are not resistant enough to cleaning, sweat or water vapour produced by the human body is not so uncommon. As a consequence, we may have unpleasant surprises when we clean a piece of garment labelled as “machine-cleanable” or when a lady’s foot remains stained when she takes off a black boot, even though of a prestigious brand.

The problem in this case is the fixing of dyestuffs used in leather dyeing, and of other auxiliaries, like retanning agents and fatliquors.

REPIFIX HT is a dye fixing agent that, combined with a range of retanning agents, fatliquors and dyestuffs selected for this purpose, has provided excellent results.

In fact it is important to find dyestuffs offering high resistance to cleaning with detergents and enzymes, in order to combine them with processes that contain chemicals selected for this kind of article, which is subjected to frequent washing cycles.

The technical characteristics of the product are reported below.

As far as finishing is concerned, products and kind of processing shall be selected carefully. For this reason Repico staff preferred using metal-complex anilines of the SILANIL range, water and solvent dilutable, light-fast and resistant to water drops. The finishing polyurethanes used are SILENBINDER PU 1080 and SILENBINDER PU 1075, both anionic, very flexible and resistant to water swelling.
